Pill Testing Australia and Harm Reduction Australia are again set to deliver pill testing services at the Groovin the Moo festival in Canberra on 24 April 2022.
Around the same time, in collaboration with our ACT partners, a new fixed site service will commence operations in Civic on a trial basis for 2 nights a week
Here are some details and ways you can help:
GTM 2022 – 24 April
After a 2-year break due to COVID restrictions, the Groovin the Moo festivals are finally coming back.
In line with the ACT Government’s festival policy, the promoters and Pill Testing Australia have been in discussions to provide festival patrons with access to our comprehensive pill testing services for this festival – as we did in 2018 & 2019
Pill Testing Australia is the only organisation to have provided pill testing services in Australia and has done so free of charge because of our incredibly committed donors and volunteers. This is support we greatly appreciate as we continue to strive to become an established part of the medical services team at festivals, working with our colleagues in first aid and other health services.
However, to deliver this service at GTM 2022 in Canberra, we need financial assistance to subsidize at least some of the food and travel costs for our expected 40+ volunteers that include our qualified health, medical and analytical team to deliver the service to patrons at the festival.
We are also hoping to acquire an additional FTIR testing machine to help with the number of patrons expected to use our service.

Fixed Site Pill Testing – April 2022
In collaboration with Directions Health and CAHMA, and with the strong support of the ACT Government, we will also be commencing Australia’s first and only fixed site pill testing service in Civic, Canberra.
While this service is thankfully funded by the ACT Government we do want to increase our technological capabilities at the service and advocate for expansion into other jurisdictions around the country.
